poor design, not fit for purpose and difficulty getting Hammonds to review and correct design faults. Advertised as bespoke but use off the shelf sliding doors, which are not the correct sizing for maximum space use in bedroom. Ugly unfinished seams in panels where joins are made and lack of communication to highlight these before fitting. Poor time keeping, late night appointments running up to midnight. Would not use again.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional service! Nobody turned up for the scheduled appointment, and no proper communication was provided. If a company cannot honour its commitments, the very least it should do is inform customers in advance rather than waste their valuable time. This is completely unacceptable and shows a real lack of respect for customers. I expected a much higher standard of professionalism and reliability. Based on my experience, I would seriously question whether this company values its customers’ time at all.

We had wardrobes fitted by Hammonds in 2 bedrooms last week. In our main bedrooms, we had wardrobes built in the alcoves. We had a lovely designer John, who took the time to visit twice, to ensure the wardrobes would fit perfectly in the space and the interiors would be designed in the most optimal way as well. Somewhere along the way, it seems the plans changed so when our fitter came and installed them, the wardrobes were not built in but put in the alcove with any gaps covered. The fitter has done a really good job, and the wardrobe in our bedroom look amazing. But because it seems the plans were changed, assume due to negligence when second measures were taken, we have now ended up with two wardrobes that are not symmetrical and not actually built in the alcove, just one side nearest the wall. We also can’t decorate or use our main bedroom because we don’t know if and when Hammonds will come to fix the issue. Speaking to customer service has been of little help so far, and the most frustrating part of the experience. I called on two days last week, both times I was assured someone is looking at this and I’ll receive a call by the end of the day. I called again today, spoke to a friendly guy who also said they’re trying to understand what happened but yet to have anyone come back to me. We are no left in a very frustrating situation where we have received no help from customer service, no indication of what went wrong or what happens now, and where we are stuck with wardrobes that are not what we designed. They are nice wardrobes but this is not what I would expect from a project costing many thousands of pounds. The wardrobes are different in the way they’ve been built in my alcoves. They are a dark colour so it’s very obvious there is a design issue. Not sure how else I can escalate and finally receive some help. I am leaving a review as prompted by an email with my honest feedback. If your job is done well, than these are great wardrobes but seems when mistakes are made, there is little help provided

Very disappointed with the service. I was supposed to have a wardrobe built but it couldn't be completed as a part was missing. Without any communication the part was delivered the following day and luckily l was in to receive it. I phoned to rearrange another visit but I have to wait a fortnight for another date to be completed.

What’s can I say I’m utterly disappointed and shocked at the poor service and quality from Hammonds. 1. Fitter didn’t turn up on the day of fitting. 2. I told the fitter I didn’t want a rushed job as this was a two day fit he said he could get it done in one day and the quality would not suffer 3. Poor quality finishing to the wardrobes 4. Offered compensation of £137 for a service that cost me £3700 Do not use these people much better services out there if you look

I visited one of their stores in early summer 2026, wanting to get some inspiration and a first look for an upcoming house move. The salesperson was quite pushy about getting my number on file. I figured they already had it from my brochure download, and we agreed a callback for September. First, I got chased by what I assume is the online team, apparently the systems don’t connect. Once September rolled around, I missed a couple of calls from Hammonds due to work, and was then called from a withheld number shortly after. Confirmed I’d call them back if I did move, and not to call me. Seems that was not to their liking, as I’m getting frequent calls, often several within minutes. The aggressive tactics have put me off buying from Hammonds and I’ll be finding my wardrobes elsewhere.

This is not the Hammonds I knew. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch. Quality not what it was. Service is poor once you have paid. A 1 day installation is going to take 2 weeks. No dust covers used during cutting inside the house direct onto carpet. Work is sub contracted out. Lots of sorry's but no recompense. A very disapointing experience.
